Shawn Winkelman, LCSW

I embrace the unique story of each individual and use a person-centered, collaborative, and holistic approach to tailor the therapeutic process to your specific needs. We will work together to explore and understand your thoughts and feelings about yourself and the world. My goal is to create a safe space where we can build trust and you can feel supported to examine vulnerable thoughts and emotions.

The therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in therapy, and you can trust that I will approach our relationship with an attitude of non-judgment and empathy. My style is client-centered, strengths-based and solution focused. My approach centers around Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Experiential and Solution-focused Brief Therapy, however I also utilize a variety of other modalities as appropriate to best meet the specific needs of each person I meet with.

We will work together on developing the skills and techniques needed to navigate life’s challenges, manage difficult emotions, and to improve relationships so that you feel empowered to live your best life!
