Anna Spruell, Clinical Intern
- Hutto
I have nearly a decade of experience working with children, teens, and families in high-stress environments. Prior to entering the counseling field, I worked as a teacher, which gave me firsthand insight into the pressures of feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, and emotionally exhausted. I value genuine connection and bring a down-to-earth, honest, and approachable style to therapy, often incorporating gentle humor when appropriate.
My therapeutic approach is primarily person-centered, grounded in the belief that clients are the experts on their own lives and deserve a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore challenges and growth. I also draw from Adlerian theory to better understand how early experiences shape beliefs, relationships, and patterns of behavior. In addition, I incorporate practical strategies from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and somatic approaches to support emotional regulation, anxiety management, and trauma recovery. I view therapy as a collaborative and flexible process focused on creating meaningful, sustainable change in everyday life.
Clients working with me can expect to feel heard, understood, and less alone in their experiences. Together, we work to identify patterns that may be contributing to stress or emotional pain while building practical tools for managing overwhelming thoughts and emotions, improving communication, and establishing healthier boundaries. Most importantly, I strive to create a space where clients do not need to have everything figured out—a place where healing and growth can happen at a pace that feels safe, manageable, and authentic.
